Roethlisberger Optimistic Lockout Will End Before Training Camp

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he's optimistic that he and his teammates will be at training camp this summer, despite the current NFL lockout.

Roethlisberger talked with Channel 11 Sports reporter Rich Walsh at a charity basketball game at Hampton High School Thursday night.

"I leave it up to the leaders of both sides,” said Roethlisberger. “I have faith that both sides will find a way to get something done that's best for both sides. This is a difficult time for a lot of people, but you just have to put faith in those guys."

Steelers Brett Keisel, Nick Eason, Ramone Foster and former Woodland Hills star Ryan Mundy were also at the charity game.

Also on Thursday, NFL owners and the players met in Minneapolis for mediated talks. It was the first time that both sides had sat down for negotiations in more than a month.
