The Cleveland Browns took a chance on WR Greg Little in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft, despite missing the entire previous year at North Carolina. So what I'm saying is, Greg Little hadn't played a game-time snap in over a year before taking the field in a preseason game against the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers.
Last year for the Browns, Little had a team leading 61 receptions for 709 YDS and 2 TDs with an average of 11.6 YDS/REC. Not a bad rookie year if you ask me. Now I'm not dismissing the fact that Little also led the team in drops last year with 14, a similar number to the one we called Braylon Edwards in 2008. Now do I expect Little to have 14 drops this year? Of course not.
He was a rookie WR who hadn't played football in a year with a shortened off-season due to the lockout. But I do expect Little to have an even more productive year in 2012.They say it usually takes a wide-out 3 years before they hit their full potential anyways. Projecting that Brandon Weeden can be the guy we think he is should help Little take that next step towards becoming an elite WR.
Hopefully Little can turn into Brandon Weeden's version of the number 5 overall pick Justin Blackmon. Not trying to praise the guy, but just wanted to send out a "little" reminder. Don't sleep on him.
Go Browns!
