The Browns, the Draft, the Traps and the Fans opinion.

As the draft rapidly approaches the Cleveland Browns must decide what to do with their #4 pick. The options available to the Browns are numerous, as numerous as the opinions expressed by sports writers and draft analysts on an ever changing and daily basis. There are many opinions flooding the Internet from sports sites, bloggers and of course the on-going and constantly changing support by the media, sky-rocketing once rarely spoken of players into the spot-light.

Well, it is Friday and while scanning the World Wide Web for the latest opinions on the "Flavor of the Week" and must have choice the Browns should make with their picks I wondered two things, the impact the media can have on a teams choice ( Hence the Trap ) and of course the thoughts of the typical Browns fan. Setting aside the thoughts of the media, who are rarely correct I decided to seek another opinion--that of a Cleveland Browns Fan!

Much has been written about the Browns need of a quarterback and a name highly touted is that of Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill has risen rapidly up the draft charts of many analysts, partially due to his performance and what I consider the need for a headline after the Robert Griffin III media-fest came to a halt. Tannehill, who many are now projecting to go as high as #4 at one time was projected to go in the bottom of the first, with many suggesting the second round. Is this due to his value or merely the end effect of the medias need to drive him up the charts--a headline?

Justin Blackmon, a highly regarded receiver is another prospect many are suggesting the Browns should grab. Those in favor of Blackmon support the theory that Cleveland needs that dynamic down-field threat that many feel the Browns do not have on their roster at this time. Those against are quick to state that the difference in Blackmon and receivers available later in the draft are minimal--in other words a receiver can be had later on at a cheaper price.

Considered by many to be the hands-down, no-brainer pick is powerful running-back Trent Richardson. Naturally the loss of Peyton Hillis has many screaming for the need of an elite (possibly) feature running-back, especially here in the AFC North. Those against Richardson as the choice are quick to point out that the West Coast Offense is a pass first offense along with many quoting stats, stats that show that the higher percentage of running backs making it to the Super Bowl come from latter rounds.

Although their have been others suggested as the #4 pick by the Browns, these are the front-runners. We all know what the "Experts" suggest the Browns do--who to pick. As we get closer to the draft I thought it would be interesting to give the Browns fan a chance to voice their opinion. So what do you think, and feel free to tell us why!
