The Cleveland Browns for sale? Just when we thought the on-going soap opera surrounding the Browns quarterback competition would die down, now we are entertained with rumors of the Browns being sold. “My understanding is that the Bills are his first priority but I was also told by an NFL source that Cleveland and St. Louis may be for sale,” Eskin said. “Cleveland and St. Louis were secondary in the information that I got.”
Now rumors are just that--rumors. However it does bring up one question, should Randy Lerner sell the Browns who Forbes Magazine list the value at $977 million.
Lerner has received a lot of criticism from numerous media sources regarding what they consider a lack of being a "hands on" owner, one who is constantly involved. While others state that it does not matter as long as the man employs capable people to run the team and is willing to pay the price needed to do so, which opens the door for another debate.
At this point it is just a rumor, however would the Browns be better off if Lerner did sell the team, provided it stayed in Cleveland.
